This is a push switch similar in function to display object #1.  This is also the simplest useful electical circuit. The distance that the moving part of a switch moves when you press on it is called the travel. This display object helps illustrate the enormous variation in one simple class of componants (momentary switches).
This switch was probably picked off of an equipment carcass.
