Timing Motors are named for their
application in electric clocks and other timing applications. The
design of Timing Motors is focused on accuracy of speed and little
else.
Output speeds range from less than one revolution per day up to around
100 rpm. A typical value would probably be around 1 rpm. Timing motors,
also called hysteresis synchronous motors, have very low torque. Bought
new, they are expensive, but good deals can be had surplus.

Surplus suppliers are good sources. Some
of
them are H&R, C&H Sales, All Electronics, Marlin P. Jones &
Assoc., and others. See the sources
page for
possible vendors.
